On August 23th the Rotary Club of Burlington Central hosted it's annual Lakeside a la carte, an event the club has been hosting since 1998. Set in Spencer Smith Park downtown Burlington the Lakeside a la carte brings together dozens of local restaurants, wineries and breweries. Guest stroll from tent to tent to taste a selection of gourmet samplings from more than a dozen chefs and establishments while listening to Live jazz by the Terry Brough Quartet starring smooth jazz artist Sharon Musgrave. At SB Prime's Lakeside table guests were greeted by GM Teresa Blayney as Chef Pete carefully fried tiny quail eggs to top each individual Steak and Lobster Benedict and Hollandaise. So far this event has raised more than $275,000 for community charities, All proceeds from Lakeside a la carte 2009 will go to Nelson Youth Projects and other local Rotary charities.
