SB Prime Cooks for OE Haiti Relief Fundraiser |

On February 10, 2010 SB Prime will have the honour of cooking for the Haiti Relief Fundraiser Dinner sponsored by the Local 793 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. In an effort to aid those left homeless as a result of the earthquake that hit Haiti January 12, 2010.
SB Prime has been selected to Cater the event which will be held at the OE Centre, 2245 Speers Road, Oakville.
Proceeds from the Haiti Relief Fundraiser will go to the Haiti Earthquake Fund set up by the Canadian Red Cross Society. more information...

Olympic Torch Passes SB Prime on route to Vancouver |

January 10, 2010
Spectators gathered on December 19, 2009 to witness the Olympic Flame during the 2010 Olympics Torch Relay as it passed through Burlington on route to Vancouver. Hitting Downtown Burlington and the Civic Square around 5:08pm shortly after the flame continued it's journey down Brant Street passing in front of SB Prime and towards Lake shore. An estimated 4000 residents gathered to be a part of the event. This torch will travel over 45,000km visiting over 1000 communities before reaching the opening ceremony and signaling the start of the 2010 Winter Games on February 12, 2010. In Burlington alone nearly three dozen torchbearers had the chance to carry the flame each of 300 metres, in all 12,000 people will have the honor of being an Olympic Torch bearer. It was really something to be able to be there and be apart of this event.

Cranberry Sauce Recipe - From Our Chefs Kitchen |

We originally ran this cranberry sauce recipe at Thanksgiving, but thought that it was such a great recipe and appropriate to make again for Christmas Dinner. This recipe is so delicious and easy to make, it comes to us from SB Prime Head Chef John Hamilton's own kitchen, one that he whips up for his own family.
What you'll need;
1/2 lb frozen cranberries 2 oranges 1 oz triple sec 2 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp honey One/half cup orange juice or apple
Squeeze the oranges into a med sauce pan. Bring all ingredients to a low boil. Mash using a potato masher. Reduce sauce three min. On med/low heat add one tbsp cornstarch blended with cold water. Whisk until smooth.
